Jane Chirwa (* 1990) is a German-Zambian actress, producer, and filmmaker. After completing her acting training at the Theaterakademie Vorpommern, she was engaged at various German-speaking theatres, including Theater Neumarkt in Zurich, Ballhaus Naunynstraße in Berlin, and Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg. Chirwa became known to a wider audience through roles in numerous cinema and television films. For her artistic work, she received the Audience Award at the First Step Award and the prize of the Reading Fringe Festival. With the feature film “Schwesterherz,” which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2025, Jane Chirwa will be appearing in cinemas from January 2026. Together with Benita Bailey, she founded the company Jabeza Films; it produces films with a particular focus on identity aspects such as ethnicity, gender, and social background.
