Udo Wachtveitl (* 1958) is a German actor, voice actor and audiobook narrator, director, and screenwriter. He began his acting career as a child performer and, since the 1980s, has taken on roles in numerous film, television, audiobook, and radio drama productions. Wachtveitl became widely known to a broader audience through his leading role as a detective inspector alongside Miroslav Nemec in the Munich-based “Tatort”. He has also worked as a director, including on adaptations of his own screenplays, and as a voice actor for live-action and animated films. For his artistic achievements, Udo Wachtveitl has received numerous awards, including the Grimme Prize, the Bavarian Television Award, the Golden Lion, and the honorary award of the German Television Crime Festival.
