Miroslav Nemec (* 1954) is a German actor, musician, and author. He studied music at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and acting at the drama academy in Zurich. This was followed by engagements at various theatres, including Bühnen der Stadt Köln, the Bavarian State Theatre in Munich, the Frankfurt Opera, and the Munich Kammerspiele. He became widely known to a broader audience through numerous film and television productions, most notably through his leading role as a detective inspector alongside Udo Wachtveitl in the Munich-based TV crime series “Tatort”. As a musician, he plays in his youth band “Asphyxia”; in 2011, Nemec published an autobiographical collection of stories. For his artistic achievements, he has received numerous awards, including the Grimme Prize, the Bavarian Television Award, the Blue Panther, the Golden Lion, and the honorary award of the German Television Crime Festival.
