Mussolini in Venice

Even if the government seat has been relocated
To the City of Venice
Mussolini is still not
Completely free of worries yet.

He still looks sad
And grumbles about the whims of fate
And a sigh escaped him
On the Bridge of Sighs lately.

He spoke, when invited for a bath
At the Lido:
I get cold showers enough,
I have no desire to swim.

In front of his house lies a boat
A gondolier is singing
„O mia bella Napoli,“
That annoys him.

But the worst for him was:
Shylock encountered him
And mockingly called out to him
Reckoning is coming soon.
