Burghart Klaussner (* 1949) is a German actor, director, speaker, singer and author. After studying acting at the Max Reinhardt School in Berlin, he accepted engagements at theaters in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Bochum and Zurich. Klaussner became known to a wider audience through roles in film, audio book and television productions. He has received numerous awards for his artistic work, including the German Film Prize, the German Film Critics’ Prize, the German Audio Book Prize, the German Theater Prize “Der Faust”, the Bavarian Film Prize and the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Klaussner is the sponsor of the Velbert comprehensive school for the title “School without Racism – School with Courage”.
