Julian Emanuel Becker (* 2005) is an organist, pianist, and chamber musician who has won numerous national and international awards, including first prize for organ and piano at the German competition Jugend musiziert, special prize for contemporary music, and first prize at the International Organ Competition Northern Ireland (NIIOC), the Grotrian-Steinweg Piano Competition, and the International Organ Competition for the Bach Prize of the City of Wiesbaden. Becker was inspired to create an improvisation of “Lied van verzet” (Song of Resistance) on the Eule organ at the Concert Hall of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig. It is the only song by Curt Bloch that includes musical notation.
