Maurice J. Wijnschenk (* 1938) was born in Amsterdam. After he and his family were taken to the Westerbork camp twice in 1943 and released again, he went into hiding – separated from his parents and sister – with a Catholic farming family in the Dutch village of Broekhuizen until the end of the war. Maurice’s parents and sister also went underground and survived the war.
