Mechthild Großmann (* 1948) is a German actor and speaker. After dramatic training in Hamburg, she worked at several venues, among them the Theater am Goetheplatz in Bremen, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Schauspiel Frankfurt. Großmann was also ensemble member of the Tanztheater Pina Bausch; she has also taught dance history and acting at the Folkwang University in Essen. Großmann became known to a wider audience through a number of leading roles in TV and film productions. She has also recorded several audio book and radio play productions. Großmann has been awarded the Hessian Theater Festival Acting Prize and two German children’s audio book prizes for her artistic work.
