Claus von Wagner (* 1977) is a German cabaret artist, who first began composing his cabaret work while studying communication sciences, history and media law at University in Munich. His master’s thesis was on the subject of “Political cabaret on German television.” Parallel to his career as a solo artist, von Wagner was a member of the cabaret group Erstes Deutsches Zwangsensemble. He has appeared on the comedy and satire program “heute-show” since 2012 and since 2014 has co-hosted the cabaret program “Die Anstalt” with Max Uthoff, a TV comedy program which often deals with current problematic topics such as racism and right-wing extremism. Claus von Wagner has received over 25 awards for his artistic work, including the St. Ingberter Pfanne, the Bavarian Television Prize, the German Cabaret Prize, the Grimme Prize, the German Cabaret Prize, the German Television Prize and the German Comedy Prize.
