Jan Böhmermann (* 1981) is a German entertainer, satirist, author, film producer, journalist, as well as a television, radio, and podcast host. In recent memory, his own presentation of an original poem sparked public discussion in Germany as well as international political controversy. Böhmermann is an outspoken advocate for the well-being of refugees on numerous TV programs and actively campaigns against right-wing extremism. For his work, Böhmermann has received several awards, including the German Television Award, the “Journalist of the Year” award, the Grimme Award, the Grimme Online Award, the Rose d’Or, and the Hanns-Joachim-Friedrichs Prize (for the team of ZDF Magazin Royale). In April 2024, Jan Böhmermann presented the verses of Curt Bloch together with Olli Schulz in their joint podcast “Fest Flauschig” (approx. 1 million listeners).
