Louis Polak (* 1934) was just five years old, living with his family in Amsterdam when – in 1939 –World War II broke out. In 1942, when the Nazis began the first deportations from the Netherlands the Polak family decided to go into hiding. Als die Nationalsozialisten 1942 in den Niederlanden mit den ersten Deportationen beginnen, beschließen die Polaks, unterzutauchen. Thus he survived the period of persecution and today lives with his wife Carry, splitting their time between Israel and the Netherlands. So überlebt er die Zeit der Verfolgung. Mit seiner Frau Carry lebt Louis Polak in Israel und in den Niederlanden.
