Marcel Hensema (* 1970) is a Dutch actor who trained at the Maastricht Theatre Academy, and has since appeared in productions at the Toneelgroep Amsterdam and the Ro Theater in Rotterdam, among many others. Hensema has achieved wider recognition playing roles in over 70 national and international film, television and streaming productions. He has twice received the Netherlands’ Golden Calf film award for acting. Hensema plays one of the lead characters in The Netflix series “Tokyo Trial,” which was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2017. Hensema was cast in “The Investigation” (2024); the feature film is based on the play of the same name by Peter Weiss, an early (1966) dramatic adaptation of the proceedings of the first Frankfurt Auschwitz trial.
