Markus Scheumann (* 1968) was born in Dortmund and – like Curt Bloch – attended the Stadtgymnasium there. In the course of his career, Scheumann has been in residence at several theaters, including the Theater an der Ruhr in Mülheim, Schauspiel Köln, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, and Schauspielhaus Zürich. Since the 2019/20 season, he has been a member of the ensemble at the Wiener Burgtheater. In addition, he regularly works on TV and film productions, as well as for radio and literary readings.
