On July 20, 1944, a group led by Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg attempts to assassinate Adolf Hitler with a bomb attack. However, the coup fails, Hitler is only lightly injured and survives. Curt Bloch dedicates several poems to this event, such as The German “Solidarity”.
