The Königstiger

The Soviets deploy their heaviest tanks, the Stalin tanks, in battle, armed with 12.2 cm guns, while the guns on the German Königstiger [King Tiger] tanks are significantly lighter. However, the operational capability of the German tank is greater. – 19-1-45

The lips of Goebbels, that arch cheater,
crossed these words today:
Compared to our Königstiger,
The Stalin tank cannot approach.

Königstiger, master class,
Top performance of German minds,
All other technical stars
pale beside this star.

Indeed, he explains to his listener,
The Russian tank
is heavier compared to ours,
Yes, that must be admitted,

But ours is delicate
And therefore more flexible,
From which it naturally concludes:
Stalin’s tank fails miserably.

Königstiger, like a weasel,
Races across the terrain,
While like an elephant’s tusk
Is the Stalin, the plump,

Unable to maneuver,
Against Germany’s Königstiger
He’s clearly destined to lose,
Königstiger is the victor.

And when I see the results
Of this Russian offensive,
I have to sing praises,
If you ask me who runs faster,

German or Russian vehicle?
Without a doubt, the Königstiger,
Königstiger, unbeatable,
They seem to think, it’s wiser

To avoid a fight,
They run, escape, take flight,
And it seems that what the wicked
Dr. Goebbels said is true.

Königstigers are fast,
No, one cannot deny
That such a tank, fast as the winds,
Is better suited for the escape.

P.S. And what is a Königstiger?!
This tank that runs like this,
As recently explained by a warrior,
Is a “Tiger” that “can [do] nix.”
