One day peace will come,
One day this war will be over,
The day of our dreams will come,
And we will be free again.
We can go wherever we wish,
Everyone can see us then,
We are humans among humans,
No longer living in secrecy.
No longer need to live quietly,
Full of fears as we do now,
Without anxiety, without trembling,
Walking in the sunlight.
One still shows the scars
Of the time just lived through,
One has lost much
And thinks with sadness
Of the wounds, of the blows,
That were inflicted on us,
Which we will carry all our life,
Day and night …
