When you speak with a German,
He’s thoroughly fed up,
And reluctantly does his duty,
And the Führer is utterly mad.
But if you talk to two of them,
Then they swear by the swastikas,
And claim they’re true-blooded Nazis,
And praise Adolf’s charms gloriously.
One is afraid of the other,
And it’s been like this for years,
They delude themselves, pretending it’s fine,
Too cowardly to admit the truth.
