Bjarne Mädel (*1968) is a German actor, audiobook narrator, and director. After studying theater and literature at the University of Erlangen – where Curt Bloch earned his law degree – Mädel trained as an actor at the “Konrad Wolf” University of Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg after which he joined the permanent ensembles of the Rostock Volkstheater and the Hamburg Schauspielhaus. Mädel is known to a broad German audience through numerous and varied film, television, and radio drama appearances. He has received numerous awards for performance, including the Grimme Prize, the Bavarian Television Award, the German Comedy Award, the Comedy Gold Award, the Ernst Lubitsch Prize, the Prize for Acting Art, the German Acting Award, and the Prize of the German Record Critics. Like Curt Bloch, Bjarne Mädel has written poetry, published by Kiepenheuer & Witsch.
