Marina Frenk (* 1986) is a German actress, speaker, musician and author. Born in Moldova, she came to Germany in 1993. After studying acting at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Frenk worked at Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspiel Leipzig, Schauspiel Köln, Schauspiel Frankfurt and Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin. She has been a freelance artist since 2015. Marina Frenk has received several awards for her artistic work, including the Bochum Theater Prize, the Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden (together with Sybille Berg), the CIVIS Europe’s Media Prize and the Vera Doppelfeld Literatur-Förderpreis. Together with the actor Richard Gonlag and the sign language interpreter Matthias Schäfer, Frenk performed poems by Curt Bloch on stage; the musical event “Het Onderwater-Cabaret live” was part of the accompanying program of the world’s first exhibition of Bloch’s satirical magazines at the Jewish Museum Berlin. Her settings of Bloch’s poems were also shown as a video installation in the exhibition.
