For Mother (April 14)

A year has passed, a year without news,
I don’t know where you are today,
Yet today, I will rhyme something for you,
I have always been accustomed

To writing a poem for your birthday,
And that’s why I‘m doing it now,
Even though it will remain unread for now,
I still hold onto the small chance,

That after the end of these times,
We will meet again in life,
We don’t know where fate will lead us,
And whether it will turn out well for us or not.

Today, there are no birthday cheers,
The celebration has gone south a long time ago,
I just want to thank you today, Mother,
For everything you’ve done for me.
