Frank Schätzing

Frank Schätzing (* 1957) studied at the West German Academy of Advertising and then worked for several years as a creative director in advertising agencies before founding his own agency. At the beginning of the 1990s, Schätzing emerged as a writer, with his most successful book to date, “The Swarm”, reaching a total print run of 4.5 million copies. Three of his novels have been made into films. As part of his social commitment, Frank Schätzing supports environmental projects and campaigns against right-wing extremism, among other things. He has received numerous awards for his artistic work, including the German Crime Novel Prize, the German Science Fiction Prize, the German Sea Prize, the Bavarian Book Prize and the Italian Premio Bancarella literature prize.
